About TaxLoan.org
TaxLoan.org is an independent, informational website about the money side of taxes: owing the IRS, payment plans, taxpayer rights, refund timing and the costs of borrowing against a refund.
We are not a lender, broker, debt-relief company or tax preparer, we are not an IRS-authorized e-file provider, and we are not affiliated with the IRS. Earlier versions of this site claimed IRS authorization, lending licences and funding figures; those claims were removed because they were not accurate.
For your own account, use the official tools at irs.gov or speak with a qualified tax professional.

- First-time filers – A walkthrough of the documents and steps for a first federal return.
- Quarterly taxes – Tools for estimating quarterly payments and checking your withholding.

How we write
Articles are written for general readers and are reviewed and updated periodically. They are not written for your specific situation and may not reflect the latest rule changes. Where possible we point to the official source (for example a government agency or regulator) so you can check the current rules yourself.
